The makers of the Dhanush-starrer Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta (ENPT) haven’t shared the name of the music director yet. But two singles from the film, Maruvarthai Pesaadhe and Naan Pizhaippenno, are already a hit among the music lovers. Since Gautham Vasudev Menon felt that quality of a song was being judged only by the composer’s name, his team has decided not to announce the name until the release of ENPT.
They’ve created a Twitter handle, @Mr_X_Music, who started interacting with his fans. During the recent Twitter chat, he confided that he wasn’t a classically trained musician. When asked about whose idea was to keep his name under wraps, he said, “Both Gautham and I thought about it around the same time, strangely. He was the first one to ask me and I said ‘Please, let’s do’.”
Interestingly, he also told the reason behind his anonymity was his inability to handle attention. “In this project, it’s GVM’s vision to make exciting work and he lets you experiment. He spoke to me about emotions and moments. Then he said I was free to do whatever I liked. The first tune I made worked for him. In general, or me, it’s about zoning out,” he added. Grapevine has it that Darbuka Siva, who composed music for Sasikumar’s Kidaari (2016) is scoring the music for ENPT. Till then it’s a guessing game!
