Simbu, who had put on weight for his Ashwin thatha role in AAA, and was mocked in social media for looking ‘unfit’, has undergone a complete makeover, as can be seen from a screengrab of his new video he recently put out. Said to have lost about 25 kilos in four months, the actor sports a clean-shaven look in the video. Forestalling speculation that this new look is for his upcoming film with Mani Ratnam, he clarifies in the video that it’s not for a film, but for something else which he’ll announce soon.

On the film front, the Mani Ratnam multi-starrer will see him collaborating with Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Jyotika and Aishwarya Rajesh. The film is expected to go on the floors in January. Simbu is also busy with his next directorial, an English film with dialogues by Gautham Menon and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
