Rana Daggubati has signed his next, a Telugu-Tamil bilingual in which he’ll reportedly play the role of a scientist.

Directed by Dhwanil Mehta, the film is based on a story penned by Yogesh Joshi which talks about the disappearance of the steamship, SS Vaitarna, that went off the radar whilst on the way to Mumbai from Mandvi, off the coast of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat.

The cyclone disaster in 1888 led to more than 740 people going missing, and the ship is often dubbed as the Titanic of Gujarat even though the RMS Titanic sank 24 years later.

Sources say that Rana was excited about the script and agreed to it despite playing a naval commander in this year’s release Ghazi, which was about the sinking of the PNS Ghazi submarine during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
