We had previously reported that director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, whose last directorial was Ammani, is introducing Viji Chandrasekhar’s daughter Lovelyn as heroine for her next film which will star Pasanga fame Kishore in the lead. It’s now known that the film is titled House Owner.

Speaking about it, the filmmaker says, “We had reserved the title for another film starring Ashok Selvan and Aishwarya Rajesh. But only the first draft was ready and there were date clashes. I’ll do that film when the lead actors are free from their other commitments. I also planned on doing a film called Blue Ink which was based on the TV show Solvathellam Unmai.”

Interestingly both these films’ satellite rights were sold. Blue Ink was supposed to roll from June but during the last week of May, there was a ban on Solvathellam Unmai. “I’ve gone through lots of trouble for the show and I know that I’ve been sincere with what I do. So I didn’t want to cling on to the project anymore,” says Lakshmy who supposedly turned her attention to House Owner, a story she says she wrote in 2016. “It’s a love story set against the backdrop of the Chennai floods. Interestingly, there will be no songs in the film nor any portions showing the floods. My husband is producing it under his banner Monkey Creative Labs. The company previously co-produced my other film, Aarohanam.”

The film, also starring Aadukalam Kishore had its first schedule wrapped up recently. “House Owner also has another pivotal character, but I’m not sure who’ll act in that role. I’ve spoken with Sriranjini but I feel it’s a tailor-made role for me. It’ll be finalised soon too,” says Lakshmy. The second schedule will go on the floors from Thursday and there’ll be two more schedules which are expected to be completed by mid-September. Prem of Magalir Mattum fame is handling the editing, while the cinematography is by Krishna Sekhar. The director wants to finish shooting the film before finalising the music director.
