Dulquer Salmaan’s travelogue titled as 'Vaan'

Karthik tells that 'Vaan' denotes panchaboodha. Just like how each of these aspects is unique and has its own characteristics, Dulquer’s role will be special with multiple shades.

We had told you Dulquer Salmaan was collaborating with debutant director Ra Karthik for a travelogue, which will have four heroines. Now, the title of the film has been revealed to be Vaan. Karthik tells CE, “Vaan refers to both vaanam (sky) and mazhai (rain). It also denotes panchaboodha (the five elements — land, water, air, sky and fire). Just like how each of these aspects is unique and has its own characteristics, Dulquer’s role will be special with multiple shades.”

The filmmaker clarifies, “Though we’re in talks with many heroines, we’ve not finalised anyone yet. My film won’t be like Solo (an anthology). It will be a colourful action film with a lot of emotions; something similar to Jab We Met.” While George Williams has been roped in as the cinematographer, Sreekar Prasad will handle the editing, and newbie Dheenadhayalan will be in charge of the music. The latter has apparently completed three songs for the film so far.

Karthik adds Dulquer will start shooting for Vaan once he’s done with his existing project. “Initially, I had conceived this as a Tamil film. Now, we’re looking to make this a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. We’ll be shooting in and around Chennai, Coimbatore, Gobichettipalayam, Goa, Gangtok, Coimbatore, and Kolkata. Dulquer was quite impressed when I narrated the script to him. He’s told me this project is close to his heart.”
