It was a meeting that was bound to happen sooner than later. Kamal Haasan was personally received by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin when he arrived to watch a private screening of her debut film and Rajinikanth-starrer Kochadaiiyaan. The screening was held on Sunday night. “Ulaganayagan (Kamal) is watching ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ now. Received by Soundarya Rajini,” Kamal’s spokesperson posted on Twitter. Sources also said that the Superstar met Kamal and received a lot of appreciation for the motion-capture flick.

Kamal, who was busy shooting for Uttama Villain, took out time to watch Kochadaiiyaan following a personal invitation from Rajinikanth’s daughter. He was accompanied by his Vishwaroopam co-star Pooja Kumar for the screening. According to a source at the screening, Kamal thoroughly enjoyed the film and appreciated Soundarya for the effort. “Kamal really enjoyed the film. He personally congratulated Soundarya for daring to experiment in her debut film,” the source told IANS.

This bonhomie between the two top stars of Kollywood is not new as Kamal has been in the habit of screening his films for the Superstar, as soon as it releases — a trend that has continued till as recently as Vishwaroopam. When the controversial film ran into hot water, Rajinikanth was among the first actors to speak up and sent a public letter voicing his support.
