Mahesh and Bunny Set for Epic Pongal Face-Off

Mahesh Babu’s forthcoming film Brahmotsavam is likely to clash with Allu Arjun’s next film by Boyapati Srinu in January 2016

It seems like Superstar Mahesh Babu will be heading towards yet another box-office clash for Pongal 2016. After previously locking horns with Ram Charan Tej during the festive period, the actor is all set for a clash with Allu Arjun this January. According to sources, Allu Arjun’s forthcoming film directed by Boyapati Srinu, will go on floors on July 19 and the makers are looking to release the film during Pongal next year. Mahesh Babu’s next film Brahmotsavam is already scheduled to hit screens on January 8, which could mean there could be a high-profile box-office clash between Mahesh and Bunny.

Incidentally, Mahesh was involved in similar Pongal face-offs with Ram Charan Tej for two consecutive years. In 2013, Charan’s Naayak and Mahesh Babu’s Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu released at the same time. Last year too, Mahesh’s 1:Nenokkadine clashed with Ram Charan’s Yevadu for Pongal. This time, it seems like Mahesh will have to battle it out with Allu Arjun, who’s still riding on high on the success of Race Gurram.

Directed by Srikanth Addala, Brahmotsavam also features Samantha D’cruz, Kajal Aggarwal and Pranitha Subhash in important roles. The film is set to go on floors on July 10.

Meanwhile, Mahesh’s forthcoming film Srimanthudu directed by Koratala Siva is all set to release on August 7.
