Over the last couple of years, actor Allu Arjun has established himself as one of the biggest stars in the Telugu film industry. The actor has secured a hattrick of hits, with his latest films – Race Gurram (2014), Son of Sathyamurthi (2015) and Sarrainodu (2016) -- all turning out to be blockbusters. Perhaps, that’s why, expectations for his next film has reached a crescendo.

After much deliberation and dilly dallying, Allu Arjun’s next film was officially launched in Hyderabad on Monday, with the title DJ: Duvvada Jagannatham. The film will be directed by Harish Shankar, who’s known for directing the Pawan Kalyan-starrer Gabbar Singh in 2012. DJ: Duvvada Jagannatham is also the 25th film to be made under producer Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Banner, making it a momentous occasion for everyone involved.

“I have worked with Dil Raju for Gabbar Singh and today, it’s a proud moment to direct the 25th film under his banner,” said director Harish Shankar. With DJ, Harish also fulfills his long-pending desire to work with Allu Arjun.

“Ever since he did Arya in 2004, I wanted to work with Allu Arjun and hence I’m grateful that it is finally happening. We will start regular shooting from September and are looking to release in April 2017,” Harish added.
