HYDERABAD: The SIT officials who served notices to the celebrities on July 12 and 13, could not locate actress Mumaith Khan, whose name has come up in connection to the ongoing drug investigation, at any of her residences in Hyderabad or Mumbai. However, upon learning that she is participating as one of the contestants in Bigg Boss Telugu reality show, the shocked investigators are contemplating serving her notice on the sets of the show.

The actress would be at the Bigg Boss house in Lonavla, Maharastra, until she is evicted. The officials initially tried to serve summons to her apartment in Hyderabad, but they found that actress was not living there anymore and a dancer known to her was present. Then, they left for Mumbai, but their efforts to locate her proved futile.

On Friday, (July 14), Mumaith, in a video message, responded through social media that she did not receive summons from the SIT and denied doing drugs. Notable, the procedure of recording statements of the celebrities allegedly involved in drug racket would start from Wednesday.  Responding to a query if the actor would be summoned at the Bigg Boss house, a senior officer said “We are trying to find her location to serve the notice.”

D-Day approaching fast for ‘involved’ Tollywood stars

As the date is fast approaching for Tollywood personalities to appear before SIT sleuths, some of them are learnt to be counting their days with fear of losing fame if SIT takes any unexpected step after grilling.

The ‘questionnaire’ in connection with the LSD peddling is ready. It is learnt that film director Puri Jagannadh, who is alleged of having a major role, was given July 19 as the date to appear before the officials. However, the director may not come on the said day and his advocate may appear to seek a different date.

Actresses Charmee Kaur and Mumaith Khan are scheduled to be questioned on July 20 and 21 respectively. Others who would attend the questioning at SIT office in Nampally are actor Subba Raju on July 22, cinematographer Syam K Naidu on July 23, actor Ravi Teja on July 24, art director Chinna on July 25, actor Navdeep on July 26, actor Tarun on July 27, actors Nandu and Tanish on July 28, said an official of the Prohibition & Excise department.

The list was made based on the involvement of the celebrities in the drug racket and also the confession given by the alleged kingpin Calvin Mascarenhas. The officer also said that though the dates are given so, the summoned persons may request for date-change or may make a representation through an advocate.
