Inside 8 of Gauri Khan's stunning luxury aesthetic living spaces designed for Bollywood celebrities

Gauri Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's better half, is an interior designer par excellence. The 49-year-old has designed some gorgeous spaces for celebrity friends and other clients (including the interiors for the ‘one night only’ party in Mumbai's Taj Land's End for iconic London-based nightclub Cirque le Soir!). From Nita Ambani to Alia Bhatt, her star-studded client list is countless. As she turns a year older today, here's a sneak peek at some of her work for India's who's who!

A National Institute of Fashion Technology alumna, Gauri used to love doing up the various homes she and SRK own. Her friends too started appreciating her taste and designing skills. “A close friend of mine, Kaajal, offered me to join her design studio after which I eventually launched my line at The Charcoal Project (where she co-curated interior decoration pieces with Sussanne Khan). The following year, I opened my own design studio Gauri Khan Designs,” Khan narrated in an interview. She started Design Cell, a now-defunct boutique in Raghuvanshi Mills district of Mumbai before going on to launch her eponymous store. Her flagship interior design brand Gauri Khan Designs houses her original creations in addition to international brands such as Roberto Cavalli and Ralph Lauren Home. (Photo | File, PTI)

Bas,' read Shah Rukh's caption. Gauri Khan, while describing the process of designing her first project - her home, (as told to Femina) said, 'The living room was the first area that I focused on. It took me a few years to do it up. I would visit flea markets and design stores whenever I travelled, and pick up a few pieces that I liked.
