In the late afternoon, 130 MLAs were taken by buses to a hotel near the Chennai airport, from where, it was reported, they would travel to Mumbai on Thursday morning to meet Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and declare support for Sasikala as chief minister. However, news later came in that the governor was set to arrive in Chennai on Thursday morning and would be met by Sasikala to prove that she had the numbers on her side to stake the claim to the chief minister's post.
