College students protest changing name of St.Aloysius road in Mangaluru
Students of St.Aloysius college on Thursday protested against the move of the Mangaluru City Corporation to change the name of the St.Aloysius road to Mulky Sundar Ram Shetty Road.

The government recently gave its nod to the Mangaluru City Corporation's decision to change the name of St.Aloysius road to Mulky Sundar Ram Shetty Road.
Mulky Sundar Ram Shetty is a famous banker and former chairman of Vijaya Bank. There are several roads and building named after him in the state.
The college management requested the Corporation not to carry out the name change as St. Aloysius college is a landmark on the road.
Now students of St. Aloysius college have started protests against the Corporation's decision to change the name of the road.
They could not hold the protest meet in the open or even inside college campus due to the 144 section prohibitive orders still ruling.
So they organised the protest in a large hall in the science block and posted images on social media.
Students held placards saying 'You can't just ignore 14,000 voices', 'All roads lead to Aloysius' etc.
