Mickey Contractor

Director of Makeup Artistry, M•A•C

Designers readying for their biggest amp shows swear by his magic touch. Bollywood actors (read Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol) know where to get their gorgeous looks, both onscreen and offscreen. Mickey Contractor is not just a makeup artist, he is a one-man glamour machine who has brought Indian beauty trends to the international stage. His subtle contouring and sumptuous palette has won him fans across the world. His journey—from styling to heading M•A•C to launching his own line of products—is both fascinating and inspiring. His first memory about makeup is working with Helen, who he believes was way ahead of her times. Working for over three decades, he was the first to introduce glitter, frost, lashes and feathers in Bollywood. About his long-standing association with M•A•C, Contractor says is buying lipsticks. One of the greatest moments in his career, he says, was to conceive the M•A•C Mickey Contractor Collection.
