Imagine a cup of steaming hot coffee and a summer breeze inspiring an entire collection range of a clothing brand! Coffee in this sweltering heat, you say? It not only refreshes and rejuvenates but soothes the frayed nerves just like a cool breeze after a hot day at work.

Uncanny as it may sound, this is what inspired Ashish Gurnani and Aashray Thatai’s PostFold’s latest summer collection, Café and Crisp. They find inspiration for their collection in all the sundry around them. The attempt is to mix business with pleasure.

Café and Crisp uses flowy, lightweight fabric with a playful use of stripes and geometrical patterns that focus on clean cuts and simple lines. The easy-to-wear collection takes care of comfort factor and style quotient. “The latest collection is one of our favourites. With the café theme, we have tried to include our love for food and fashion. The pieces have elements of pizzas, coffee, burgers and the freshness of colours like bubble pink, citrus orange and hues of blue,” say the co-founders.

PostFold was conceived in November 2015 when the co-founders could not find clothes that would work post office. They thought of coming up with the brand to sell clothes that reflect versatility and offer an effortless transition for desk to dinner and everything in between.

The last two years have been no less than a roller coaster ride for the duo. “No two days have been the same, every day we faced a new challenge, but this is what we feed on and that’s how we thrive,” says Gurnani, who studied marketing and finance at Northeastern University, Boston, and left his high-paying job to create PostFold.

For Thatai, a mechanical engineer from the Northeastern University, the online men’s and women’s apparel brand seeks to fill the gap between the niche luxury fashion market and the low-quality affordable fashion market. We want to drive fashion from what we see every day.”
