Make sure to add juttis to your wedding shopping  list

Past few weeks have been nothing less than a celebration for everyone with two big Bollywood weddings –– Deepika  and Ranveer Singh’s  wedding celebrations at  Villa Del Balbianello at Lake Como in Italy, post which Priyanka Chopra tied the knot with  Nick Jonas at Jodhpur. While the fans were busy soaking all the fun, others were following the celebrities to list down the latest trends of the wedding season.
After catching everyone’s eye at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding, Laksheeta Govil, founder and the creative head of Fizzy Goblet made a mark at Priyanka’s wedding with Nick Jonas being the first to wear juttis from her latest collection for the mehendi ceremony.

Versatility and sophistication were the two major aspects that Govil had in her mind while working on her collection. “It was Nick and his families personality that inspired us to create a collection that is not just comfortable but is a style statement in itself,” shares Govil.

For the pair of juttis that Nick wore to complete his look, was a mix of brocade with shuttle shades. “We also used ornamental patterns for a royal touch. The design is an amalgamation of tradition with a contemporary twist to make is more relevant in today’s wedding scenario,” shares she.

Govil feels that till recent years, shoes were not something a bride or a groom would consider a priority when shopping for the day. “What many fail to realise, or at times realise a tad bit late, are that the shoes could very likely be the most important thing on your wedding day. From the comfort factor to getting that Instagram worthy picture, many brides today even plan their entire bridal ensemble around shoes and accessories,” she shares.

Govil’s artistic journey started when she was in college. She would paint her white shoes in different colours and patterns. It was the feedback she received that encouraged her to start her own venture.

Contemporary wedding juttis

For the millennials today, wedding is no longer just about the outfit, funky shoes are making a new style statement with its contemporary designs that complements almost every attire, be it traditional, Western or a ensemble of both.
