Shades of India in your homes

The label’s new collection is all about casualness and ease
Shades of India in your homes

Trends reflect changes in social manners. Workplace dressing is much more casual these days. Men no longer need to wear ties to the office. Women favour smart casuals in the daytime. In the home as well, the casual has overtaken the formal. Beds can be layered with covers, cushions and throws to suggest comfort and ease.

There is no need to follow any longer the rigid straight lines of sheets and cover folded back in perfect symmetry. This casualness and ease is what inspires the new home collection of Shades of India.

Colours range from burnt orange to a cool ocean blue. In the Indian Summer bed setting, the Jaisal comforter in burnt orange has been finished with metallic hand kantha to create a unique beaded pattern. It has been paired with the Kila pillow covers in a box-pleated tussar fabric.

For the Highland bed setting, a layer of contrasting linen fabric has in the Orkney blanket been joined to the base mink fabric, creating boxes of hand faggoting.

Textured embroidery with silk thread has been used to add luxury to the Highland blue cushion.
The Bagh tea-coloured floral blanket has been enriched with kantha over the botanical print. Tea-coloured floral shams have been paired with emerald cushions and an emerald quilt in the Du Vine bed setting.

The classic Inkwood blue cushion has been embroidered with zari stitch lines and then silk tucked on the silver metallic print. Combined with the Millennium deep blue comforter, the cushions give uniqueness to the setting.
