From the kitchens of Genghis Khan

Among the various festivals that clutter a gourmet’s calendar, perhaps a Mongolian food fest is something that would interest one.

Taj Deccan is organising a Mongolian food fest at their in-house restaurant, Syn, Asian Grill and Bar. In an attempt to do something different, the menu consists of the Chinese-Russian influenced cuisine.

Mostly stir-fried, the menu includes a choice of salad, soup, barbeque, rice and noodles, and combinations like chicken tempura, egg, vegetables or prawn tempura, grilled lobster and vegetables.

Using a range of schezwan, mustard, barbeque and oyster sauce, the cuisine does give one a bit of a taste of Mongolia. The barbeque feast also an assortment of salads and soups with broccoli, spinach, zucchini, Pakchoi, fresh beans and many more offerings for a luscious start.

The main course consists of unusual combos like chicken, prawn tempura, vegetable, lamb, tenderloin, scampis with noodles or Jasmine rice.

On the sweeter end of things, tempura fried ice cream, BBQ pineapple gateaux and season cut fruits round off the meal.

Add to this, diners can also customise their dishes according to their palate with a choice of sauces like Schezwan, mustard, barbeque or oyster sauce.

The festival is on till August 15, from 7:00 p.m onwards.
