HYDERABAD: Surveen Chawla’s movie, Hate Story 2, grabbed attention not just for her steamy scenes with co-star Jay Bhanushali but also for her bikini perfect shots. The actress started her career in television as Charu in the serial Kahin To Hoga and was also seen in leading roles in serials like Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kaajjal. The sultry actress’ big screen debut was with the Punjabi movie, Dharti, opposite actor Jimmy Shergill, while she has also appeared as Divya in the Tamil movie, Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal. The 30-year-old insists that her fitness mantra is just a disciplined lifestyle.

What is the secret behind that fit body?

Maintaining a fit body is no big deal. I can sit and binge on cheesy dishes, pizzas and sweets, but not all the time. I try to do yoga regularly. I feel fresh after doing pranayam. Besides, thankfully, I am blessed with great genes.

Any special diet that works wonders?

I have only fish and salad for dinner. I do not have any special diet that I follow. Though I am a non vegetarian, I have vegetarian food for 27 days in a month. I am a big fan of home cooked food. And it is a big no-no to junk food-may be just once in two or three weeks.

Shortcut to a bikini body?

I think confidence is what you need. I could be 100 pounds and could still look hot in whatever I wear. Besides that I think discipline is very important. One will have to work on their core muscles, calf muscles and shape their legs.

Your tips for flawless skin?

When my skin breaks out or there are stress marks, I drink at least four bottles of water. I am also a big fan of Artistry products-their skin cream is light and enhances my skin. But most of all I think one needs to be happy in order to avoid any stress on their face.

A workout routine that helps target specific areas?

I do not understand the concept of spot reduction. If I run on a cardio machine, my entire body will see a reduction not just my thighs or stomach. I cannot eat a pizza and ask it to settle on my stomach. It’s a myth that particular exercises can help you reduce just one part of your body.

Movie genres that interest you?

I want to do an out and out action movie. I will like to put in use the kick boxing that I learnt.

Tips for a quick pick-me-up?

I have been travelling for the past three to four months. But I truly think music can help.
