The enterprising baroness

Enterprise Software. The software used by businesses is made to be secure, reliable and sturdy. What enterprise software is not is attractive and therefore does not appeal to the average non-businessy user. Kakul Srivastava wants to change that. As the Founder or, as her employees call her, Boss Lady of the one of the most talked about start-ups in Silicon Valley, Tomfoolery, she believes that, “smartphones are the stone that David will use to bring down the Goliath of traditional enterprise software”. And she is qualified to do that too, as in making user-friendly software she is more of a Goliath than a David having worked on some of the most important consumer products ever like Adobe Photoshop, Flickr, Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Mail. Srivastava has a BS in Mechanical Engineering & Molecular Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA in Management of Technology from the University of California, Berkeley-Walter A Haas School of Business. After her MBA, she started her career as a Product Manager at Adobe Systems where along with being responsible for the Photoshop Album starter Edition, she developed Adobe’s Online Services strategy. Later as the General Manager of Flickr, she was instrumental in the exponential rise of the photo sharing service. Next came her positions in Yahoo! as the Vice President for Product Management and as the Vice President for Product & Operations in which capacities she developed Yahoo products like Mail and Messenger.
