The war has begun between the most awaited gaming consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The coming holiday season will generate a battle between the two consoles. It will be a tough choice between the two as both the gaming consoles have launched with some extraordinary features. Here is a breakdown to help the gamers make a choice according to their preferences.
Microsoft Xbox One
Microsoft Xbox One is a predecessor of Xbox 360 which was launched by the company in 2005. The Xbox One will make its debut on November 22, 2013.
Ever since then the gamers are patiently waiting for Microsoft to bring out something more advanced for them and their prayers were answered.
The Xbox One box comes with a Xbox One controller, Kinect camera, HDMI cable , power cable and power brick. A chat headset is also included in the box.
Just like its competitor, PS4, the console works only through HDMI. But, this device does not have an internal power supply.
Xbox One has been designed not just gaming but also for other aspects of entertainment. Xbox One has an 8 core x86 AMD processor and it helps the gamer to switch from the gaming world to the entertainment sector. Home entertainment system, cloud powered. Xbox One comes with an 8GB RAM and 500GB storage capacity.
The Xbox One will require the users to give a one day-one update to play. It also offers the split-screen option with the help of which the users can do multitasking of applications. It also comes along with the upgraded Kinect motion sensing peripheral. Users can also enjoy the service of Skype on their consoles. Just as the other Microsoft consoles, Xbox One will also have the updated Xbox Live .
Another added feature offered by Microsoft is Xbox SmartGlass which will allow the users to connect their Windows Phone, iOS and Android smartphones. The SmartGlass will set up the multiplayer settings for the users.
FIFA 14 will be pre-installed on the console.Alongside the launch of Xbox One, there will several other games that will launch.
This console will give a cut-throat competition to Sony’s PlayStation 4. The price is a little higher as it will cost you around $499.
Sony PlayStation 4
The hungry gamers can also look out for Sony’s PlayStation 4 which has already made its debut creating a sales record of 1 million within 24 hours.
The console carries a single-chip custom processor with a low power x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores. It will carry a memory of 8 GB along with a storage capacity of 500 GB. It will come along with a HDMI port and a digital output.
The price of PS4 costs around $399. PS4 offers the gamers a new digitalized experience. The gaming console will come along with the wireless controller. The controller has the in-built speakers and headset jack. The Touch Pad makes the gaming experience better along with four different LED lights.
Sony also offers the users to keep connected with their gaming consoles with the help of the mobile devices. The users can easily access the PlayStation store anytime with their smartphones.
Most of the hardware aspects of both the consoles are similar. But, PS4 has an advantage in terms of the RAM. Xbox One carries a DDR3 whereas PS4 carries a DDR5.
