Motorola Moto G (4.5-inch/From approx. Rs.12,000)

A blog came up with the best description of the Moto G. “A lot of smartphone for not a lot of money”. Coming from Motorola, now a Google company, Moto G brings together the best of both the Google and Motorola worlds. On the front of Moto G you will find a very good (329ppi) 4.5-inch LCD display which is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a 1.2-GHz quad-core CPU with a 5-MP primary camera and a 1.3-MP front camera. Available with either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage (with 50GB of Google Drive storage free for two years), the Moto G comes with interchangeable back covers in blue, teal, red, yellow, purple, white and black. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for now but Google is promising an upgrade to 4.4 KitKat in a matter of weeks.

Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 (5-inch/ Rs.14,499)

The Canvas Magnus A117 comes from Micromax, the Indian maker of quality budget smartphones. With a beautiful blue body around a 5-inch HD IPS display, the A117 is the epitome of everything that is good with Micromax. Inside you will find a 1.5GHz Quad Core processor supported by a 1GB DDR2 RAM, all complemented by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. On the back you will find a massive 12-MP auto focus camera with LED flash and on the front there is a 2-MP camera. This dual-SIM phone has an expandable storage capacity of up to 32GB.

Intex Aqua i6 (5-inch/ Rs.8,990)

From Intex, the popular Indian electronics brand, comes the Aqua i6, the latest in their smartphone lineup. The 5-inch FWVGA display on the front is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor in a beautiful white or black body with a premium IML finish. Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the phone has a 8-MP primary camera with flash on the back and a 2-MP secondary camera on the front. This 3G phone comes with 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB. Intex also boasts that the 1900mAh battery will give you a talk time of six hours and a standby time of around 220 hours. The Aqua i6 is also aimed at the Indian customers with apps like ‘Matrabasha’ that supports 22 Indian languages and ‘BigFlix’ which allows for booking movie tickets.
