Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has updated its infotainment system with a few additional features, including the new Sensus Connect. The most striking feature is that the new system aids the driver in search for parking and pay for their space from the comfort of the car. It also helps the driver in locating new restaurants, streams the music according to preference and also has Pandora-streaming Internet radio along with WiFi. Since it’s an Android-based system, one can even pre-heat or pre-cool their vehicles from their smartphones. The new Sensus Connect will be available in its line-up of cars starting May.
Dutch tyre maker Vredestein (an Apollo Tyre company) has teamed up with Porsche to develop a variable front spoiler for the Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models. The front spoiler is a part of the Porsche Active Aerodynamics system and both companies have a series of patents on it. The spoiler is branded ‘Air Master by Vredestein’. The pneumatically powered spoiler sets itself in three different modes to serve the car. At low speeds, the spoiler retracts under the bumper to prevent it from scraping over speed bumps. It extends on the outside at higher speeds to channel air around the wheels in an intermediate position and in performance mode, it deploys in full to create extra front downforce.
