Some of the hybrids that aspire to be both tablets and laptops

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (From approx. Rs 47,000)

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a for-a-tablet-massive 12” display with a very good resolution. Running 4th generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and with ports like USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort and microSD, it is a powerful laptop that looks like a tablet. But to make it a laptop all you need to do is use the new kickstand that works with friction so you can use it at any angle and by attaching the newly re-designed TypeCover with a bigger trackpad. Combined with the free Surface Pen which takes you into One Note with the click of a button, the Surface Pro 3 is the best hardware that Microsoft has ever produced. Running Windows 8.1, it comes with a promise of up to nine hours of battery life.

Dell Venue 11 Pro (From Rs 38,990)

Dell is the number one PC manufacturer in India. It wants to keep that crown through devices like the Venue 11 Pro. Beneath the 10.8-inch, full HD 1080p screen, the tablet is powered by either Intel Core i3 or i5 processors and a swappable battery that should give you 8-10 hours of usage. On the back you will find an 8MP camera, and on the front a 2MP one. Running Windows 8.1, you get a choice of internal storage up to 256GB and expandable microSD storage up to 128GB. With connectivity features like USB 3.0 and NFC and using accessories like a slim keyboard, an active stylus and a dock to convert the tablet into a desktop, Venue 11 Pro is promising a powerful all-in-one solution.

ASUS Transformer Book T100 (From Rs 30,800)

Promising to transform magically from a tablet into a laptop and vice versa, the T100, on the tablet front, is a lightweight black chunk of plastic and rubber with a battery life of around 12.5 hours and with a 10.1-inch IPS display powered by Intel Atom quad-core processors. Apart from running the latest Windows version, it has the usual ports like micro USB and HDMI, that it docks with a keyboard to transform into a laptop. With a choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, the T100 is easily the most affordable hybrid on the market.
