Here are the highlights of the match.
A brilliant match worthy of a final but Indian fans will be heartbroken. That's all from us here. Thank you for joining us.
"Inexperience of playing in such a platform, in such a high pressure game I think perhaps cost us. But, we can be proud of ourselves. Everyone at home will now watch women cricket more, and that's a good thing for women's cricket," says Mithali Raj.
The player of the tournament award goes to the highest run scorer. Beaumont has scored 410 runs in the tournament.
No surprises for this award. Shrubsole gets the award for her brilliant spell, ending with figurs of 6/46, which literally won England the game.
Fourth world cup title for England. Lord's has never seen a bigger crowd for a women's game and pretty sure every pound was worth it for the fans.
Jenny Gunn drops Poonam Yadav but Anya Shrubsole wraps it up, knocking out Rajeshwari Gayakwad's stumps! Shrubsole picks up six wickets in a world cup final! What a dream day for her and England!
It's a five-wicket haul for England's Anya Shrubsole! Deepti Sharma has to go! Absolute despeartion for India!
Deepti Sharma sends Poonam Yadav back on the last ball of the over. Sensible from the young woman.
13 runs required off 18 balls now for India, while England need three wickets. The next over is important.
An appeal for stumping off a wide delivery! But, Deepti Sharma gets the benefit of the doubt from the third umpire! A close call for India.
Need a couple of calm heads in the middle to take this home #WWC17Final #INDvENG

Deepti Sharma strikes one to the boundary for FOUR! Cheers from the crowd! This game is not over yet!
Goswami's magic with the ball was not to be with the bat! Shrubsole strikes again!
Come on India! We are just 3 hits away from cracking it. We have 7 overs left. #IndvsEng #WWC17Final

Veda Krishnamurthy departs as she hits one in the air to be caught out! That was the last thing India needed! 200 is up for the Blue Brigade meanwhile.
Pressure pressure pressure! Deepti Sharma just manages to get back into the crease as the keeper knocks down the stumps!
Another wicket down! It's like a repeat of what happened in the England innings! Tension on everyone's face!
England are right back in the game! Anya Shrubsole's breakthrough will surely fire up the English women!
A huge blow for India! Raut departs after a brilliant 86! It is really anyone's game right now!
FOUR off consecutive balls! A great start to the over! The Indian dugout are jumping up in happiness!

Raut is inching towards a world cup hundred, but she still seems to be struggling with her cramps.
Just one run off that Laura Marsh over. The boundaries are slowly drying up for India.
A cheeky single off the last ball. England are trying to keep it tight and pull things back.
Just what England wanted. A wicket and just two runs coming off the 34th over. England needs to capatalize on the situation.
Alex Hartley strikes for England! A simple catch for Beaumont. Kaur departs after a well made 51. Did she just throw it away after reaching her half century?

Composed from Harmanpreet. There's a lot more in the tank. Just needs to keep going like this. No urgency
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) July 23, 2017
Katherine Brunt is trying all kinds of different variations. Will she get the breakthrough England need?
India are now just 97 runs away from lifting their first world cup. Can Raut and Kaur guide them through?
This partnership is exactly what India needed. Harmanpreet is just coasting for now. Holds the key
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) July 23, 2017
Running between the wickets has been incredibly good by Punam Raut and Harmanpreet Kaur. England desperately need a breakthrough.
Well played Raut for her half century at #lords #WWC17final. Love how she can play with such control & bat through the gears @BCCIWomen @ICC

Officially Worried .... Come on @englandcricket .. !!!!!! #WWCFinal
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) July 23, 2017
Raut and Kaur, both in their 40's. Exactly what the team required. Two settled batswomen at the center.
England's Eileen Ash, at the age of 105, is the oldest surviving woman cricketer.

229 to win the World Cup !#WWC17Final
Harmanpreet Kaur has scored a total of 327 runs so far in the tournament, while Punam Raut has scored 328.
India need to step up their game if they want to lift their maiden World Cup. With last five overs yielding just 11 runs, the girls have to ensure quick runs.
With the last five overs yielding just 19 runs, the Blue Brigade needs to fire soon. The required runrate is rising well over five.
Wouldn't have helped if she had dived. She wasn't going to make it. Maybe she didn't believe there was one.....
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) July 23, 2017
Harmanpreet Kaur in the middle. Need to play a similar knock like the one against the Aussies in the semis. A wicket and maiden.

Raut hits a beautiful four over mid wicket. She needs to score those fours and pretty quick as well.
Punam Raut and Mithali Raj are playing the waiting game here. Not giving any room for errors.
India's highest score batting 2nd in ENG is 230 during a victorious chase the last time they played at Lord's in 2012 #WWC17

And its a SIXXXXXXXXXXXX.........Punam Raut on fire. One can surely expect her to score more of those.

India need to chase down 228 in their 50 overs to make a mark in history. If any one of their top batswoman gets a good score, then India will have no problems chasing. However, England's bowlers will not make it easy.
"There's hardly any bounce in the wicket so I tried to keep the ball in the right areas. I went back to the basics and that proved to work out very well today," says Goswami after her wonderful performance today.
Deepti Sharma gives away just seven runs in the last over! The 19-year-old off-spinner has done brilliantly today. However, England will be rather happy with this total.
Quality fielding by India! Shikha Pandey, who has not had the best of days with her bowling saves at least two runs.
The last over is up next. England have pulled it together despite the loss of a flurry of wickets.
With the long boundaries at Lord's and a slow pitch, any score that England end up with will be a tough chase for India.
England have scored a decent 25 runs off the last five overs. But, Brunt's wicket means a new batter at the crease.
A direct hit at the stumps by Deepti Sharma catches a rushing Katherine Brunt short of the crease! She had no chance! India got the breakthrough they needed.
The English batswomen are inching towards 200. India would love to get a wicket now.
A good shot for four from Katherine Brunt in this over. England will need more of these.
England need at least 200 to really challenge India. Chants of "India! India!" echoes at Lord's.
The spinners are India's lifeline. Good signs.
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) July 23, 2017
Katherine Brunt and Jenny Gunn should look to attack. Dot balls will cost England.
This is one world cup final that Jhulan Goswami would never forget. A brilliant display by the experienced pacer. She finishes with figures of 3/23 with three maidens from 10 overs.
Just one run from this over. Rajeshwari Gayakwad keeps it tight to complement Goswami.
Mithali did a great job of bringing back and having faith in her star bowler, Goswami. England are struggling.
Hawk eye shows the ball hitting the middle stump! Jhulan Goswami is India's hero today! England's biggest hope walks off after a well made half century.
It's Goswami again! She gets it right on the pads and the finger goes up! Natalie Sciver takes her chance with a review!
Natalie Sciver is trying to put the pressure back on the Indian bowlers. A boundary off the last ball of this over cheers her up.
Great match so far, India needs to take wickets though and keep the score under 220. #WWC17Final #WWC17 #WomenInBlue
— A.T. (@AyushiThakur06) July 23, 2017
Goswami keeps up her good work. With just two overs left in her spell, will Mithali save her for the end or will she keep her on to get more wickets?
India cannot afford to miss chances in a final. Can England make them pay for their mistakes?
Ishant Sharma in CT13 final striked twice and now his Hair alike, Action alike Jhulan in #WWC17Final England Common side.
— Himan Jadduboy (@HimanJadduboy) July 23, 2017
Bringing back Jhulan Goswami works for India! Brilliant bowling! Natalie Sciver has a lot of responsibility on her shoulders now.
TWO IN TWO for Jhulan Goswami!! Take a bow! New batswoman in Fran Wilson walks off with a golden Duck!
Goswami makes sure to get her this time! Sarah Taylor departs five runs away from a half century.
Rain has disappeared for good now. Is there a silver lining among the clouds for India?
All the very best to the Women in Blue for today's #WWC17Final. Come on India 🇮🇳#IndvsEng
— Ram Nath Kovind (@RamNathKoviind) July 23, 2017
The English team in the dressing room are smiling, completely at ease with the wonderful partnership that is flourishing.
India are desperate for a wicket. Taylor and Sciver look solid and if they get going, the women in blue will be in big trouble.
Skipper Mithali Raj has lots to think about as the two English batswoman milk runs off the Indian bowlers.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to bring in Jhulan & Pandey to bowl a couple each from one end with spinners at the other. #IndvEng #WWC17final
— Richard Anderson (@RichardInd1978) July 23, 2017
This partnership looks dangerous but loved the way Sarah Taylor enjoying the batting with all smiles #WWC17Final #INDvENG

— Joe Root (@root66) July 23, 2017
Both batswomen are trying to negotiate Poonam and Gayakwad's troubling spin bowling.
England's plan now seems to be scoring with quick runs between the wickets to keep the scoring up.
It's a direct hit and there's an appeal for run out as Sarah Taylor scampers to one end! A third umpire review shows she's safe!
The stands in Lord's is almost full now! A brilliant crowd have turned up, and it is not just to support the hosts!
Sweep!!!Counter sweep👏 #ENGvIND
— Ashwin Ravichandran (@ashwinravi99) July 23, 2017
Sciver and Taylor will want to keep the scoreboard ticking and build a steady partnership for England.
Brilliant bowling from Poonam Yadav! Two wickets in two overs for her! Hawk eye shows the ball hitting the stumps!
Poonam Yadav Strikes. 2nd Wicket Gone. 8 More To Go. 💪🏾🇮🇳#England - 60/2 14.3 Overs#IndvsEng #INDvENG #WWC17 #WWC17Final

India have the sight advantage but England are picking up slow and steady.
With two breakthroughs, India are on top now. But, if anyone can help England recover from this, it is reliable skipper, Heather Knight and the aggressive Sarah Taylor.
And Beaumont departs! A brilliant catch by Goswami off Poonam Yadav, who strikes in her very first over.
Tammy Beaumont looks undeterred after the fall of Winfield, taking her chances to score boundaries.

The slowers bowlers are slowing it down for India. Tight lines and lengths from Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
Gayakwad strikes as India get their first wicket! A brilliant off-break from Gayakwad manages to kiss the bail. Winfield departs for a decent 24.
Spin at both ends now as Deepti Sharma starts off with decent over, gives away three runs.
Mithali Raj's bowlers better come up with a breakthrough before the English women convert their scores into a big one.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad comes up with a good over with no run coming off it. India are not letting England break free.
Huge day for Cricket today ... Sold out World Cup final at Lords ... Good luck @englandcricket ... #WWC17 #goboldly

Goswami's delivery hits the pads of Winfield again and the umpire's finger goes up! India celebrate! But wait, England have asked for a review!
A good come back by Pandey to end the over with just one run off the last four balls.
Goswami keeps up the good work for India. Just nine runs coming off her first three runs.
