Five Naxals arrested in Chhattisgarh

Five alleged Naxals, including oneallegedly involved in abduction and rape of a two minor girls,were arrested in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh in separateoperations, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told Bhasha/PTIthat Naxal Kudiam Gujja was arrested from a jungle nearFaraspal village while Madvi Lakhmu was arrested from MeenaBajar late last night.

Three others Kudiyam Nagesh (35), Ramashankar (30), andMichcha Venkat (35) were arrested from Madded Police StationLimits.

Gujja(30), carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head,told police that he was in the Naxal movement for the last 12years and confessed he was involved in the abduction andrape of two minor girls from Modakpal Police Station limits,alongwith fellow Naxals whom he identified as Nagesh, Kishorand Shivaji, earlier this month.

He used to pick up girls at the behest of Naxal leaders,police claimed.

Police had filed a case with regard to the rape onOctober 2 after the two girls were found.
