The BJP’s Delhi unit has warned Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and the JNU administration of serious consequences if beef and pork were allowed to be served on the varsity premises.
In a statement, the party said that an organisation called “the JNU foremention committee for beef and pork festival,” had been planning to hold a party on the university campus on September 28.
According to state BJP chief Vijender Gupta, the members of the organisation which is organising the festival have links to the Maoists.
“These people want to disturb law and order in Delhi through this festival. Their objective is to trigger riots and create disturbances like those in Assam so that the conspiracy of the anti-national forces to create disorder in the capital succeeds. In the last session of Parliament, MoS, Ministry of Home Affairs, Jitendra Singh had replied to a question in the Rajya Sabha that out of nine districts in Delhi, seven were affected by the Maoists,” he said.
Gupta further said that a confidential report from the Military Intelligence (MI) had clearly warned that the Pak Inter-services Intelligence (ISI) agency, Maoists of Nepal and the active Maoists organisation in the country had jointly decided to capture power at Centre by 2050.
In order to succeed in their plan, these people had been taking the help of some higher educational institutions in the country. The objective of such organisations is to divide the country. To further their aims, these outfits had extended their footprint to several provinces and now they were planning to carry out some thing sensational here to attract international attention.
Further, the state BJP alleged that the organisation was planning to serve beef and pork on the JNU campus in the name of the people’s right to eat. However, there were serious disagreements on the issue in the Indian society as well as among the students in the JNU and other educational institutions. And the BJP statement said that every effort should be made to thwart these plans for the sake of ensuring social peace and religious harmony in the capital.
