Mukesh Agarwal, the managing director of Asian Motor Works (AMW), has filed an anticipatory bail petition at the Ernakulam District Sessions Court in connection with the case related to corruption in issuing tender for the supply of battle tank components to Steel Industries Forging Ltd (SIFL), Thrissur, and AMW-MGM, Mysore.

Agarwal, in his petition, has stated that he received a phone call from CBI officials on July 3 asking him to appear before the investigating officers in Kochi on June 10.

Agarwal said he had no connection with the alleged corruption charges and his name was not included in the FIR prepared by the CBI. Meanwhile the CBI sources have confirmed that no case has been filed against him.
