BSP MP Dhananjay Singh now booked for rape

Dhananjay was booked under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after the woman filed a complaint at east Delhi's Pandav Nagar police station Wednesday evening, claiming that the MP raped her at gunpoint.

"The woman, a government employee, alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Dhananjay at her house when her husband invited the MP for dinner between 2005 and 2009," said a police officer.

According to the police, the woman did not come forward at that time because she was threatened by the MP with dire consequence if she reported the matter to anyone.
