NEW DELHI: Union Minister Maneka Gandhi on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought a "ray of hope" for the entire nation while lauding him for holding a "historic" rally in Kashmir.
She urged the people to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls, saying that would result in the state "working in tandem" with the Centre under the leadership of the PM.
"Today, the PM has brought a ray of hope for the entire nation... even in Kashmir where he held a rally yesterday...such a historic rally was never held before in the last 40 years," Gandhi said while addressing a nukkad sabha organised by the BJP in Bhogal area of Jangpura constituency.
"The BJP is in the centre today and if state government of Delhi is also of BJP, then I am sure that the Centre and the state would be able to work in tandem, enabling them to do something great," she added.
She further said that during the previous Congress regime, when BJP was in power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, there used to be "continuous battle" between the two leading to a "huge loss to the people of Delhi".
Attacking the Aam Aadmi Party for organising protests during the brief tenure of the AAP-led government, she said that the party was busy in doing "spectacles".
"When AAP arrived on the scene, we had hope in our hearts that here is a local party...which might change something but it could not even stay for 50 days. After becoming Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and his government were busy in organising dharnas and tamasha", she said.
