Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday dubbed the Third Front a total mismatch, and said it would not come to power at the Centre.

He was speaking after inaugurating a party workers’ meet of Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency.

Terming the Third Front ‘a combination of opportunists’ who come together whenever they want, he said the attempt of the non-BJP and non-Congress front to come to power will be defeated. Naidu also predicted that people would reject the Third Front as all leaders in this combination of parties are aspirants for the Prime Minister’s post.

Charges of corruption against Union Ministers, along with the Modi wave sweeping the country, will favour the party in the state, he said, and called upon party workers to work 15 hours a day till the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections.

“Each worker has to meet at least 100 people and convince them to vote for the saffron party. Make use of social media to reach more people,” he added.

BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi accused the Centre of failing to act against foreign vested interests who are trying to take advantage of Indian Muslims, who are patriots. She accused the Centre of aiding foreign forces and harassing Indian Muslims.
