Attacking the BJP, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday charged the saffron party with ignoring corruption in the states ruled by it.
“The BJP when in power has proved itself to be the most corrupt government. During its rule in Karnataka, the government was not of the BJP. It was a Bellary government. This is the reason why it was thrown out of the state. It is not just Karnataka. In whichever state the BJP has ruled till date, the presence of corruption has been strongly felt,” he said.
Rahul said the Congress would make all efforts to make India corruption-free.
He also promised that the party would pass the Women Reservation Bill in Parliament if voted to power for the third time.
The Congress will always strive to make India a developed country which will have utmost respect for women, poor and weaker sections of society, Rahul said. He was addressing the Bharat Nirman Rally here.
