Total Subsidy Bill at Rs 2.46 Lakh crore

Subsidy on fuel, food and fertilizers has been raised marginally to Rs 2,46,397 crore in 2014-15, against Rs 2,45,452 crore in the revised estimates for this fiscal. FY15’s estimates include an increase in the food subsidy by a whopping Rs 23,000 crore to Rs 1,15,000 crore for 2014-15 fiscal.

The oil subsidies for firms like IOC, BPCL and HPCL for selling fuel and LPG to households is pegged lower at Rs 63,426.95 crore for 2014-15 fiscal. Of the total fertiliser subsidy of Rs 67,970 crore in 2014-15 fiscal, subsidy for imported urea is pegged at Rs 12,300 crore, domestic urear is Rs 31,000 crore and sale of de-controlled fertilisers is Rs 24,670 crore.
