Oscar Fernandes Launches Health Scheme for BPL Auto Drivers

Union minister Oscar Fernandes today inaugurated a health insurance scheme of the state government for below property level auto drivers of Haryana.

As part of the inauguration, the Union Minister for Transport, Road and Highways and Labour and Employment issued the first smart card to auto driver Manohar Lal at the Convention Centre in Sector 12 here.

Under the scheme, smart card holder auto drivers will have to pay an annual registration fee of Rs 30 and they can receive treatment costing up to Rs 30,000 at designated hospitals in the state free of cost.

State Transport Minister Aftab Ahmed was also present on the occasion.
