As part of the move to intensify its stir against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for alleged graft, BJP youth wing activists on Tuesday staged protests outside the residence of Congress deputy chief Rahul Gandhi and Singh here.
The protesters were led by BJYM chief and MP Anurag Thakur, who represents Hamirpur in the Lok Sabha. It was to prompt Rahul to take action against the Himachal strongman that the BJP workers gathered near the Congress scion’s residence and police used water cannon to disperse the mob.
Rahul had earlier announced that the Congress would not brook corruption and openly trashed the Maharashtra government’s decision to reject the findings of the Adarsh probe panel, which indicted four of the state’s former Congress CMs.
Meanwhile, Virbhadra was quoted as saying that he would present his case before the high command.
