JKNPP to Go Alone in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Polls

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) will contest the upcoming state Assembly elections alone, the party said today.

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) will contest the upcoming state Assembly elections alone, the party said today.

"There shall be no alliance with any communal party and the party shall contest the coming Assembly election on its own," JKNPP Chairman and MLA, Harsh Dev Singh told reporters here.

The decision was taken during a day-long session of the party at Brahmin Sabha in Jammu.

JKNPP founder Prof Bhim Singh, president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, general secretary and MLA Yashpal Kundal, President, Young Panthers and MLC Syed Mohd. Rafiq Shah also took part in the session.

The party leaders discussed the agenda for the elections and called on the people to support the party for lasting peace and development.

Earlier, Prof Bhim Singh said the Panthers Party cannot and shall not enter any alliance with BJP or any other anti-people party.

Harsh said the party has decided to fight the elections on the demands of a separate Jammu state. Bhim Singh elaborated on the reorganisation of the state which would see separate Jammu State, Kashmir State and Ladakh-Gilgit State.

JKNPP leaders called for full constitutional protection to minorities and also batted strongly for the construction of Lakhanpur to Banihal tunnel.
