Modi Pays Tributes to Mookerjee

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday paid tributes to founder leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his birth anniversary at the Central Hall in Parliament House.

Calling Mookerjee’s contribution as invaluable to the nation, Modi said: “If there was something that mattered most to Dr Mookerjee, it was serving the people. He always spoke about education for the youth.”

Also present at the venue was Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who credited the Prime Minister and the “good governance” in BJP-ruled states for the party’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The function was also attended by party veteran L K Advani.
