Telangana Govt Sanctions 200 Additional Medical Seats

HYDERABAD: Telangana government has sanctioned 200 additional medical seats across three medical colleges in the state from the current academic year.      

Deputy Chief Minister and Medical Education Minister T Rajaiah today said that Rajiv Institute of Medical Sciences in Nizamabad was allotted 100 additional seats, while Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad and Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, were given 50 additional seats each.      

With this, the total number of medical seats in Telangana has gone up to 800 from 600.     

Rajaiah also said there would be no fees hike this academic year in the medical colleges.       

He also informed that a super-speciality hospital would be built in each district, and Arogya Sri Health Insurance Scheme would be revamped and implemented more effectively.          

"We will bring more medical services under the scheme and also see that Arogya Sri services are made available extensively in the government-run hospitals," he added.
