BHOPAL: Two notices for  breach of  privilege brought by BJP MLAs against  Leader of  Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Satyadev Katare were forwarded by Speaker Sitasharan Sharma to the Privileges Committee.

The move by the MLAs came in the wake of Katare’s alleged attempt to mislead the House.

“He (Katare) made a false statement in the House and tried to mislead the House by alleging irregularity in the selection of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s close relative in the exams conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission,” senior BJP leader and state Forest Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar said.

The second notice for Breach of  Privilege was submitted by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra and fellow BJP members against Katare and Congress MLA Bala Bachchan for bringing a ‘kamandal’ (stoup), saffron clothing and a bell into the House last week. “The notice will be forwarded to the Privileges Committee along with the other such notice that has been submitted by the forest minister”, the Speaker stated.
