Bihar Cong President's Wife Asked to Appear Before CBI Court

PATNA: In an embarrassment to Bihar Congress president Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, a special CBI court today took cognizance of a supplementary charge sheet in which his wife is accused of obtaining a housing loan on submission of false papers two years ago, and asked her to appear before it on July 31.

Special judge Ravindra Patwari issued summons to Chaudhary's wife Nita Keshkar Chaudhary to appear before the designated court for trial.

She was one of the five accused of obtaining the housing loan for an amount in excess of Rs one crore from Punjab National Bank for construction of an apartment on her own land in 2012.

The CBI had filed charge sheets against four other accused earlier, of which the judge had taken cognisance and issued summons to all accused persons asking them to appear before the court on July 31.
