Couple Arrested in Rape Case

INDORE: A 35-year-old man and his wife have been arrested in connection with a rape case here, with the man being held for allegedly raping wife of one of his friends, police said.         

The accused, identified as Arjun Soni, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman, last year on the day of Makar Sankranti, when he had gone to the victim's house, along with his wife Reena (30), who worked as a beautician, sub-inspector Azad Nagar Police station, Manish Dabar, told reporters today.

According to a complaint of the victim, filed on Monday, she had called Reena to her house for some work and Arjun had also accompanied her, police said, adding, Soni allegedly raped her at knife point there.

Reena recorded the act of her husband on her mobile, after which Soni repeatedly raped the victim several times in last six months, by threatening her to make the video public, Dabar added.      

Distressed over the continuous harassment, the victim filed a case against the couple and were arrested under relevant sections of the IPC.
