SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav launched a scathing attack on ruling BJP in the LS for raking up rape incidents in the House. Citing MHA data on rape, Mulayam  said BJP-ruled states such as Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan reported more such cases than the state ruled by his party.  During the discussion on the Budget, Treasury Bench members had raised the issue of poor law and order in UP prompting blunt response from him. “The Home Minister is sitting here. The data of his own Ministry shows maximum number of rape cases in MP and Rajasthan. There is only two per cent rape cases in UP whereas the data in MP reveals 9.8 per cent rape cases,” he said. He also gave a piece of advice to the Congress whose MPs made a din during his speech, “You have enjoyed power for a long time. Now you should come out on the street, mere speeches won’t work”, he said.
