NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday clarified that it is only seeing the procedure adopted by the Centre over the appointment of senior IPS officer Archana Ramasundaram, as Additional Director, the CBI, and nothing beyond that.
Giving two weeks time to the Centre to respond on the contention of the Tamil Nadu Government that had not relieved her, a Bench headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha said, “It is nothing to do with your merit, but only with the procedure followed in this case. It should not be an impediment in your service.”
The Bench said there is no need to pass any order after senior advocate Amrendra Sharan, counsel appearing for Archana, submitted that court should pass an order to ensure that she be considered for empanelment.
