CBI Registers 2 Fresh Cases in Coalgate

The CBI, probing alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks, has registered fresh cases against two firms in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh after taking cognisance of the CVC review report.

NEW DELHI: The CBI, probing alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks, has registered fresh cases against two firms in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh after taking cognisance of the CVC review report.

In the case against Ranchi-based Domco Private Limited, it was alleged that the firm entered into criminal conspiracy with unnamed entities and submitted false information with dishonest intention to the authorities while applying for a captive coal block. The second case was registered against Raipur-based company, Vandana Vidyut Limited, for alleged misrepresentation of facts. The case  includes the then members of 35th Screening Committee  in the allocation of Fatehpur East Coal Block.
