CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced a slew of incentives for the people of Mahendergarh which included setting up of an industrial model township in Khudana village.

Hooda, who was addressing 'Sankalp Rally' at Mahendergarh reiterated his commitment to bring Bhakra water to the region.

He also announced a sum of Rs 10 crore from the Haryana Rural Development Fund for the development of villages of Mahendergarh Assembly Constituency and Rs 5 crore for the development of Mahendergarh town.

An industrial model township and a sub depot of Haryana roadways will be set up in Mahendergarh, he said.

Hooda also announced a sum of Rs 5 lakh each for Gaushalas in the area and said those schools which fulfill prescribed norms would be upgraded. Besides, veterinary hospital, ITI and polytechnic institute would be opened as per requirement.

Referring to the recent Lok Sabha elections, Hooda said that though the results have not been as per expectations of Congress, people did not vote for the policies of BJP. Without naming anyone, the Chief Minister said an atmosphere was created in favour of a particular individual, that he has a magic wand and all the problems of the people would vanish immediately.

But now, people have seen the real face of BJP and are repenting their decision as the BJP could never be a pro-poor and pro-farmer party, he said.

Lashing out at BJP, Hooda said that though the party-led government had just completed its tenure of two months, its policies had led to increase in prices of various essential commodities.

The Centre has increased the prices of diesel by 50 paise per month and railway fares and sugar prices had also been hiked considerably, he said.

Hooda said he understands the feelings and aspirations of the people, and predicted that Congress would form the government in the state for a third consecutive term.
