SRINAGAR: At least two policemen were killed in two separate attacks by suspected LeT militants in Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Syed Khan and Altaf Ahmed, respectively.

A police official said a group of youth had pelted stones on police and CRPF bunkers at the main Chowk Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday night when people of the Valley were offering prayers.

“While the securitymen were dealing with stone pelters near Chota Bazar Sopore, militants hurled a grenade and fired towards the securitymen killing a police constable and injuring four others,” he said. The official said the injured cops were shifted to local hospital and Army Hospital.
