SITAPUR: An undertrial accused in a murder case escaped from a local court here after which the cop accompanying him also went missing, police said here today.
Sunny Singh, who was in jail since 2009 in a murder and gangster case, was taken to the court with head constable Ajai Pal Singh yesterday.
Circle Officer S K Singh said that Sunny escaped from the court last evening and the head constable who took him to court was also missing.
SP Sitapur Rajesh Krishna said that a case had been registered against Sunny and constable Ajai Pal.
