Congress-AAP Share Cosy Relationship: Arun Jaitley

BJP leader Arun Jaitley Sunday accused the AAP of sharing a "cosy relationship" with the Congress since the Delhi assembly polls.

He noted that the Congress announced unconditional support to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) while AAP was unwilling to register an FIR against former chief minister Sheila Dikshit and other Congress leaders.

In a blog post, Jaitley claimed that since AAP started its campaign for the Lok Sabha polls, the focus of its campaign has been against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"The AAP and its leadership does not speak against the dynasty. It does not speak on the central government being weak on national security; it does not give data on how the national economy has suffered under the Congress.

"There is no criticism of the manner in which the coal blocks were allocated or the 2G spectrum was allotted. There is not even criticism of the Congress having aligned with a convicted Lalu Prasad Yadav," Jaitley said.

"AAP has softened the attack on the Congress and is going hard against the BJP. This is the Congress-AAP strategy," he said.

Workers of BJP and AAP have clashed in several states recently, including outside the BJP's national headquarters here.

"Congress is encouraging AAP but it is today stamping on Congress' foot. BJP's constituency is intact and expanding. Congress and AAP have a cosy relationship but by dividing the non-BJP space, they will develop a self-defeating relationship," said Jaitley.
