Harsh Vardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi, Ajay Maken, Sandeep Dikshit Mahabal Mishra, former Army chief General V K Singh, Ashutosh and Rakhi Birla were among the top leaders from the BJP, the Congress and the AAP who filed their papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The other prominent leaders who filed their nomination papers were BJP leader Udit Raj and AAP leaders Jarnail Singh and Jag Mohan Gandhi. Before going to file his nomination papers, Vardhan inaugurated the BJP’s central campaign office for the constituency on G T Karnal Road adjacent to State Bank of India Colony.

Vardhan praised Narendra Modi and said that across the country the party would come out with spectacular performance. “I am proud that Narendra Modi and the BJP high command have chosen me as the candidate for Chandni Chowk,” he said.  Vardhan showed immovable properties worth `11 crore and `28 lakh and FD.

AAP leader and former journalist Ashutosh also filed nomination paper from Chandni Chowk. He has shown assets worth `4.6 crore with movable assets including cash, FDs and other investments worth `31 lakh. He also has three houses in Noida worth `4.2 crore. BJP spokesperson Lekhi along with her husband Aman Lekhi filed the nomination papers.

Ajay Maken went along with his mother, wife, two daughters, son and some supporters to file the papers. “I would just be talking about the development works carried out by me and I would like to extend my best wishes to the contenders also,” he said.
