BJP Exploiting Hindu Sentiments: Digvijay

Senior Congress leader and two-time former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh on Monday accused the BJP of exploiting Hindu religious sentiments for deriving  political mileage and said the party had no faith in the religion.

He also attacked the BJP for usurping the ‘Har Har Mahadev’ slogan and called it as an insult to the followers of Lord Shiva.

“The BJP never addresses Lord Rama as God but as ‘maryada purush’. The way they are parodying the ‘Har Har Mahadev’ slogan, which eulogises Shiva, and chanting ‘Har Har Modi’ instead is an insult to the Hindu religion,” Digvijay said, adding that the BJP was functioning like a fascist party, which could be seen in manner in which Modi was being glorified by the party members.

“In Fascism, a small thing is glorified until it attains the status of God, which is exactly what is happening in the case of Modi. Right now, the BJP is being run by Modi alone. Whoever opposes Modi is sidelined”.
