Under Attack, Modi Takes on Kejriwal

BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday called the Congress manifesto a ‘joke’ and accused the AAP of cheating people and termed the party as the Congress agent. Addressing a huge rally at Shastri Park area of Delhi, Modi slammed the UPA and its supporters for creating alliances to stop him from becoming the Prime Minister of India.

“Earlier in elections, the Opposition and other state parties used to make alliances to defeat the ruling party, but in this election, the ruling party and the other parties are making alliances to stop Modi from becoming the Prime Minister. It (AAP) is going hand in glove to stop the BJP from forming a government at the Centre,” he said.

“All of these parties are in fear because from a political pandit to a general voter, everyone is saying that this time the BJP will form government,” he said.

Attacking the Congress party on its manifesto which was released earlier in the day, he said: “The manifesto is the same which has been repeated from past two elections. They have put those things in the manifesto which they have failed to deliver in the 2004 and 2008 parliamentary elections.” He termed the Congress manifesto a joke. “Manifestoes are very serious documents which represent the party’s ideology and agenda but after reading the Congress manifesto I got to know it was a joke. It was joke with the people of India,” he said. He also took a dig at the issue of replacement of the Congress candidate from Vadodara area of Gujarat and accused the party of denying ticket to a Dalit.

“When Rahul Gandhi said he would change the entire system in the Congress and started primaries for selecting candidates, many people said it is revolutionary. But in reality, a person who struggled his entire life to a contest in election was replaced by a person who is close to the Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi),” he said.

He targeted the Aam Aadami Party for betraying the people of Delhi and working as the “B” team of the Congress party.

“The AAP is supporting the Congress party. First, it formed a government with the help of the Congress but instead of working for people’s welfare it resigned and now the party is campaigning in the entire country for parliamentary elections to support the Congress,” he said.

The AAP first formed the government with the Congress and then resigned and handed over the government to the Congress through lieutenant governor, he added. He termed Kejriwal as a backstabber and said the people of India would never forgive him. “If someone makes a mistake in politics, it is pardonable but if someone backstabs people in politics, it is unpardonable.”
